RECESS
EXCUSES:
A written order from the physician is to be provided to the school
nurse should there be a valid reason for a child to be kept indoors. (The
school nurse will excuse a child for one day only.) Children are
never sent outside in extremely cold or rainy weather. School recesses
are planned to give children fresh air and sunshine which is essential
to good health.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION EXCUSES:
A written order from the physician is to be provided to the school if
there is a valid reason for the student to be excused from physical education.
The length of time to be excused must be stated in the order. If it is
until further notice, a release is needed from the physician. The school
nurse will excuse the child for one day only.
