The Yearbook season extends through the entire school year. Yearbook is open to students in grades sixth through eighth. Students who are interested in becoming a staff member, must complete an application. The student is asked to list all the activities he or she plans to be involved in over the school year and the strengths he or she could contribute to the staff. The sponsor considers the following areas in the selection process: availability; responsibility and dependability; attitude; commitment and dedication to the activity; teacher input; and academic and behavioral performance. The total number of staff is typically limited to thirty students. The yearbook staff take pictures at school events and activities; proof student pictures and names; design and make candid pages; create promotional materials for yearbook sales; assist with yearbook sales orders; and count and distribute yearbooks. Meeting times and activities vary throughout the year due to deadlines set by the company for completion. The month of January is exceptionally demanding because of sales. Students are subject to Conduct Eligibility. |
